On October 10, 2016, our beautiful daughter Lily Sheryll was born at a gestational age of just 31 weeks. Having been born exactly 2 months premature and in critical condition, Lily spent the next 10 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Stony Brook University Children’s Hospital under constant 24-hour medical care. This was an extremely trying time for our family and my wife Brigitte Sheryll and I spent countless hours in the hospital at Lily’s side.
